Sometimes the path we take ain’t easy.
Sometimes strange shadows come our way—
Dark, foreboding, uncertain calls;
A dim visage in derelict halls.
Who knows what tempests move toward us?
Who knows the length of time we’ll need—
A day, a week, a month, a year;
A lifetime of courage, hope, and cheer?
Nay, whatever chills and sighs and woes;
Whoever damned, fierce, and strong—
Nothing too small that God doesn’t know;
No one too great that He can’t o’erthrow.
God is the God Who we can rely.
His will and love none can modify—
See Christ’s hands and feet wounded for us.
Look to God; He shall direct us forwards.
